Information on Hygiene

Admission Rules

Please arrive punctually, this does not mean too early or too late. This will help to avoid crowds at the entrance and to keep the distance regulations. For example, if you have bought a ticket for 4.30 pm, you can arrive at the entrance between 4.30 pm and 5 pm.

Compulsory mask

The mask regulation will be adapted to the current requirements in autumn 2021.

Highly frequented areas such as catering and sanitary facilities are regularly disinfected. Spread over the entire site, there will also be sufficient stations for hand disinfection.

Distance Control

Please keep a distance of 1.50 metres to people who are not part of your family or household.

Personalised Ticketing / Re-personalisation of Tickets

In order to be able to trace possible chains of infection, we as promoters are obliged to record your name and contact details. We use computer-controlled, personalised ticketing. In doing so, we observe both the relevant requirements of the authorities and the data protection regulations in accordance with the DSGVO. Children’s tickets must also be personalised and must contain all the necessary information. Only a personalised ticket then authorises you to enter. We ask you to present the purchased tickets and a photo document (identity card, driving licence, etc.) at the entrance.
If you are unable to attend on the day of the event, you can change your print@home or mobile ticket in your booking account at The re-personalisation will be done online.
If the ticket was sent to you by post, it will be re-personalised on site at the box office. There, you or the new visitor in question would enter the previous ticket and all the above-mentioned details of the new ticket holder. You can find the form here.

General Information

Admission Times

To allow you an experience full of atmosphere, the admission is limited for visitors per 30 minutes. Please show up at the admission time shown on your ticket and pass the entrance within the half hour mentioned on your ticket. Example: if you have bought a ticket for 4.30 pm, you can show up for admission between 4.30 pm and 5 pm.

The evening box office closes at 8.30 pm. Last admission to the Christmas Garden Dresden and to the trail is at 8.30 pm. We ask for your understanding that the security services will inform the visitors still on the trail from 9.45 pm onwards that the Christmas Garden will close at 10 pm.

Please note: The duration of visitors’ stay on the site is limited to a maximum of two hours.

Day Tickets and schlösserlandKARTE

The Christmas Garden offers a special programme that takes place at Pillnitz Palace & Park in the evening hours. Day and annual tickets of Pillnitz Palace & Park are therefore not valid.

Please note that Pillnitz Park closes during the period from 18 November 2021 to 09 January 2022 already at 4 pm. Access with daily and annual tickets is no longer possible after 4 pm.

Owners of the schlösserlandKARTE receive a discount of 10% when purchasing tickets at the “Alte Wache” visitor centre and at the box office of the Christmas Garden Dresden.

Discount for Pupils, Students and Seniors

Pupils, students and senior citizens aged 65 and over receive reduced admission from Monday to Thursday (except 18 till 30 December). The reduction can only be granted upon presentation of an appropriate ID.

We kindly ask for your understanding that dogs (including on a leash) and other animals are not admitted to the Christmas Garden. This does not, of course, apply to officially registered assistance dogs (guide dogs for the blind, etc).

Exhibition Rooms of Pillnitz Palace & Park

The exhibition rooms are unfortunately not part of the trail and, therefore, remain closed. During the winter half year guided tours of the palace museum take place every hour between 11 am and 2 pm during the weekend.

Food and Beverage

All your creature comforts are catered for with hot and cold food as well as beverages along the trail. The offer includes sweet as well as hearty food.

Tickets for the Christmas Garden 2020

Tickets already purchased for Christmas Garden 2020 remain valid for 2021. As a special thank you for your trust, you will receive an upgrade and can use your tickets from 2020 as FlexTickets this year!
The FlexTicket offers you the opportunity to visit the Christmas Garden once on any opening day and in any time slot you wish. With a FlexTicket, you are therefore not bound to a date and a time slot.
If you do not wish to keep your ticket, it can be returned for a refund of the purchase price. Please contact the ticket provider.

Ticket Information and Return of Tickets

Children (under the age of 6) have free access to the Christmas Garden. The children receive, however, a free-of-charge ticket so that the precise number of visitors can be checked.
In our online ticket shop you have the possibility to acquire print@home and mobile tickets. You can buy these until shortly before the event and take them along with you on your mobile phone or as a printout.

Please note that in the event of loss of the ticket, no replacement or additional printout will be possible. In the same way a return or exchange of tickets is not possible. In accordance with § 312g Para 2 Sentence 1 No. 9 BGB (German Civil Code) there is no right to revocation when acquiring tickets despite the basic existence of a distance selling transaction. This unfortunately also means that when buying tickets the two-week right of revocation and return is completely excluded.

If you have any questions about tickets you have already purchased, please contact your ticket provider.

The (non-guided) tour is recommended trail and is approximately 2 kilometers long. Depending on your time of stay it takes approximately 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. Of course you can have breaks on your way and extensively admire our installations or stay longer at our photo points. Toilets and catering are likewise available along the way.

Visitors with Disabilities

Adult visitors with disabilities need a ticket for adults. Children with disabilities need a ticket for children. Upon presentation of a severely disabled person’s identity card (mark B), an accompanying person will receive free entry to the Christmas Garden. The accompanying person does not receive a ticket, and must first fill out a form to record visitor data in order to trace possible chains of infection. Only then can the accompanying person pass through the entrance with the visitor.

The path is barrier-free and therefore wheelchair accessible. There are handicapped accessible toilets on the site.

Weather and Clothing

Christmas Garden Dresden takes place at any weather – including rain. You should be aware of this when purchasing a ticket. Any return of tickets in case of bad weather is unfortunately excluded as long as there is no acute danger for visitors. The Christmas Garden is an outdoor event. Please think of weatherproof clothing and solid footwear.
