About the Christmas Garden Koblenz

As twilight falls, the magic begins …

and accordingly, from November 19, 2020 to January 10, 2021, the fortress will be transformed into a luminous, mysterious backdrop and an impressive scenery. Unique light installations harmonize with individually composed worlds of sound. Millions of light points open up previously unknown perspectives on the monumental architecture of Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. The Christmas Garden Koblenz takes you on an approximately 2 km long circular route through the historical Ehrenbreitstein Fortress with numerous glittery illuminations into a magical Christmas world. The Christmas Garden invites you to take a deep breath and enjoy the anticipation of Christmas in peace and quiet. We ensure a quiet and relaxed stay for each of our guests.

Last winter, around 950,000 people visited the Christmas Garden in Münster, Berlin, Dresden, Stuttgart and Madrid. Now the event concept is also coming to the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress in Koblenz as a Christmas destination. Those who want to end the magical winter walk in a relaxed atmosphere can treat themselves to delicious hot food or drinks on the romantic circular path, warm up by the crackling fire or take part in a winter ride on the nostalgic carousel. The trip with the cable car across the Rhine with a wonderful view of the Christmassy illuminated Koblenz rounds off the light experience impressively. Ideal for families, romantics, couples, friends and all those who are looking for an extraordinary and particularly atmospheric excursion at Christmas time.

Highlights at Christmas Garden

Many unique highlights and the appropriate musical accompaniment were designed exclusively for the Christmas Garden 2020 and can only be experienced here. Be inspired by the “Field of Lights”: on a large meadow, thousands of light points are animated to a perfectly coordinated melody, creating the illusion of a moving, shimmering image motif. The “Glockenspiel” enchants you and lets you walk through a sparkling path with countless fairy lights and real, ringing Christmas bells. The ride on the nostalgic merry-go-round rounds off your Christmas walk in a special way, so young and old can be carried off into a unique winter world.
