About Christmas Garden Stuttgart

As twilight falls, the magic begins

It is the most beautiful time of the year, when the sparkling evening circular path finally illuminates Stuttgart’s famous Wilhelma again. Now in its third year, the winter walk takes a magical route with completely new worlds of light, which continue to surprise even our visitors from previous years. The Christmas Garden invites you to enjoy the anticipation of Christmas in peace and quiet. Stroll through a winter oasis in a romantic atmosphere and round off your visit with a hot mulled wine and seasonal delicacies.

Since its opening in 2018, the Christmas Garden Stuttgart has developed into one of the most popular destinations during the Christmas season. Last year, more than 950,000 visitors in Germany and Spain were put in the Christmas mood by more than 10 million light points. This year, too, the Wilhelma will be transformed into a romantic fairytale landscape on a circular path of about two kilometres in length. A visit to the Christmas Garden is an experience for adults and children alike, offering everything that makes a Christmas outing special. An ideal evening for romantics, couples, friends, colleagues and the whole family.

Ticket Information and Return of Tickets

Children (under the age of 6) have free access to the Christmas Garden. The children receive, however, a free-of-charge ticket so that the precise number of visitors can be checked.
In our online ticket shop you have the possibility to acquire print@home tickets. You can buy these until shortly before the event and take them along with you as a PDF on your mobile phone or as a printout. At the evening box office admission tickets may be acquired as well.

Please note that in the event of loss of the ticket, no replacement or additional printout will be possible. In the same way a return or exchange of tickets is not possible. In accordance with § 312g Para 2 Sentence 1 No. 9 BGB (German Civil Code) there is no right to revocation when acquiring tickets despite the basic existence of a distance selling transaction. This unfortunately also means that when buying tickets the two-week right of revocation and return is completely excluded.
If you have any questions about tickets you have already purchased, please contact the ticket provider myticket.de.

Highlights at Christmas Garden

Many new, unique highlights with suitable musical accompaniment and individual compositions were designed exclusively for the Christmas Garden 2020 and can only be experienced here. The “water fairy tale” inspires with a light art work made of water mist and a video projection and lets imaginative, glowing motives emerge on an impressive wall of water. Or stroll through the glittering Christmas Garden “Cathedral of Light”: thousands of tiny light-emitting diodes are formed into a radiant tunnel over 20 metres long. The starry sky is thus within reach. Also our visitors’ favourite from 2019, the “Field of Lights”, is back – even bigger and more impressive than last year. On a large meadow, thousands of light points are animated to a perfectly coordinated melody, creating the illusion of a moving, shimmering image motif.

Tips for your visit

Book your tickets for the Christmas Garden Stuttgart already in advance sales and save unnecessary queueing at the evening box office. To allow every visitor a moody strolling without hustle and bustle, admission is limited to a certain number of persons per half an hour. Experience has shown that the Christmas Garden Stuttgart has a high number of visitors in particular during the weekends and in the time windows before 7.30 pm. We, therefore, recommend that you plan your visit during the week and slightly later in the evening. The Christmas Garden Stuttgart is an open-air event and winter evenings can be very cold. We therefore recommend weatherproof clothing and solid shoes. If necessary, bring along an umbrella as well.
