Yes, we offer discounts for the following visitor groups and tickets:
• Schoolchildren, students, and seniors aged 65 and older
Discounted admission is available Monday through Thursday (except on holidays and between December 18 and January 5). The discount can only be granted upon presentation of valid identification at the entrance.
• Families
Reduced admission on Family Days.
Reduced admission with the Family Ticket.
On Family Days or with the Family Ticket, up to 5 people from the same family (up to second degree of kinship) can visit the Christmas Garden:
a) 2 adults and at least 1 to a maximum of 3 children aged 6 to 14
b) 1 adult and at least 1 to a maximum of 4 children aged 6 to 14
• Children
Children up to and including age 5 receive free admission to the Christmas Garden.
• Guests with disabilities
All guests who require an accompanying person (marked with a “B” on their severe disability ID card) may bring their accompanying person free of charge. However, the accompanying person must purchase a regular ticket.
• Mainau Island annual pass holders:
Holders of a Mainau Island annual pass receive a 10% discount on tickets for adults, children, schoolchildren, students, and seniors aged 65 and older.
Discounts and reductions cannot be combined.
Children up to and including the age of 5 receive free admission to the Christmas Garden. Children aged 6 and above require a ticket, which can be booked in our ticket shop.
Children under the age of 14 are only permitted to enter when accompanied by an adult.
Yes. Tickets are also available at the box office (plus a $2.10 fee). We recommend purchasing tickets in advance at a lower price, as popular time slots may be sold out, resulting in waiting times. The box office is open from 4:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
Yes. If you purchased a ticket via our website or myticket.de, you can rebook the ticket to a new date and/or time slot up to five days before your booked time slot.
Ticket booking via a guest account:
If you booked your tickets as a guest, please use the "request new password" function via the following link to convert your guest account into a customer account: myticket login. Please enter the email address you used to book the tickets. You can then make the change in your customer account under "Ticket" and the sub-item "Ticket exchange."

Please note: Discounted tickets for schoolchildren, students, and seniors can only be exchanged for Monday through Thursday. It is not possible to exchange tickets for Friday to Sunday. A fee of €5.00 will be charged per exchange/transaction. Exchanges can only be made via online payment (credit card, Klarna, Amazon Pay, Giropay) and not with advance payment.
There are three price categories: Monday to Thursday, Friday to Sunday, and the period around Christmas/New Year. You can find the corresponding prices in the ticket shop on our website.
For groups of up to 20 people, you can book your tickets via our ticket page. For groups of 21 people or more, please send us an inquiry, which you can also do via our ticket page.
No. If you lose your ticket, it cannot be replaced or reprinted. Tickets cannot be returned either. According to Section 312g (2) sentence 1 no. 9 of the German Civil Code (BGB), there is no right of withdrawal when purchasing tickets, despite the fact that this is essentially a distance selling transaction. This means that the two-week right of withdrawal and return is completely excluded when purchasing tickets.
If tickets for a specific admission window are no longer available online, it means that the event is sold out and tickets are also no longer available at the box office. We recommend purchasing tickets in advance from our ticket shop at a lower price.
Gift certificates can be issued with an individual gift certificate value (starting at €1.00) and can be personalized with a dedication.
Gift certificates can be redeemed directly at the Christmas Garden box office, but only if tickets are still available for the desired day and admission window.
We recommend redeeming your voucher for tickets online in our ticket shop before visiting the Christmas Garden. Additional payments are possible. Any remaining credit on the vouchers can of course be used for other events at myticket.de.
Please note that vouchers cannot be redeemed at the Christmas Garden's restaurants and cafés.
Yes. The e-ticket will be provided to you as a PDF. You can either show it digitally on your smartphone, print it out and bring the paper copy to the event, or save it to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

Yes. With a FlexTicket, you can visit the Christmas Garden on any day during opening hours without having to commit to a specific date and admission time in advance. Even if certain admission times are sold out, you will still be able to gain admission.

The admission time is printed on your ticket. Please arrive at the entrance within the specified time period. You do not need to arrive earlier.
No. Public transportation is not included in the Christmas Garden ticket.

⋅ Traveling by car
There is ample parking available at the mainland parking lot. Parking fees on Mainau Island are €6.00 for visitors and €2.00 for annual pass holders. For more information, please visit the Mainau Island website.
You can easily reach the Christmas Garden by boat via the car ferry (Konstanz–Meersburg route). Information on departure times can be found on the Stadtwerke Konstanz website. Please check whether the ferry connection you need is available on your desired date before purchasing tickets.
⋅ Traveling by RV
A designated RV parking space is available for those traveling by RV. Parking fees on Mainau Island are €6.00. For overnight stays, in addition to the parking fees (valid from 7:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.), a night rate of €12.00 (valid from 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.) also applies. The parking lot for Mainau Island is located near the entrance. The parking fee there is €6.00. Holders of an annual pass for Mainau Island pay €2.00 to use the parking lot.

General information
No. Day and annual tickets for Mainau Island are not valid, as the Christmas Garden is an event that takes place in the evenings on Mainau Island. If you have an annual ticket, you will receive an exclusive 10% discount in our ticket shop, at the box office, and through the Mainau Service Center. The discount can only be granted upon presentation of the annual ticket.
Discounts and reductions cannot be combined.
Yes. Dogs on a short leash are Christmas Garden Insel Mainau in the Christmas Garden Insel Mainau .
Yes. You are allowed to bring a stroller; all paths are barrier-free.
No. The historic buildings and plant houses are not part of the Christmas Garden and cannot be visited.
With increased security personnel and a professional admission organization, we are meeting the increased security requirements of recent years, taking current standards into account. To ensure speedy admission, we kindly ask you not to bring large bags.
The Christmas Garden is an open-air event, and winter evenings can get very cold. We therefore recommend that you wear warm, weatherproof clothing and sturdy shoes. Please also bring an umbrella if necessary.
Yes. The Christmas Garden takes place in all weather conditions—including rain. Please be aware of this before purchasing a ticket. Tickets cannot be refunded due to bad weather unless there is an immediate danger to our guests.
No. For safety reasons, bicycles, sleds, balance bikes, and other children's vehicles are not permitted on the grounds of the Christmas Gardens.
You are welcome to film and photograph our installations. Of course, you are allowed to bring a tripod. We would be delighted if you could capture the special atmosphere of the Christmas Garden and share your impressions with us on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook using #christmasgarden. Please understand that for safety reasons, recordings with drones are not permitted. At our event, photos and videos may only be taken for private purposes. Recordings for commercial purposes are not permitted and require prior written approval.

There are currently fraudulent competitions circulating on social media that are supposedly being run on behalf of Christmas Garden. Please note that we are in no way affiliated with these competitions. Official competitions will never ask you for confidential information such as bank details or telephone numbers. To ensure that you are participating in a genuine Christmas Garden competition, please check that it has been published directly on our official channels. Stay alert and protect your data!
In the Christmas Garden, rapidly changing light patterns, strobe-like effects, and/or intense visual stimuli are used in a few places. We therefore ask people with epilepsy or increased sensitivity to light to exercise caution.
Proposing marriage is generally possible at the Christmas Garden. However, please note the following information:
• Please stay on the designated circular route and paths.
• No littermay be left behind: no confetti, no plastic, no balloons, no candles, no fireworks, etc.
• To ensure that all guests can enjoy their stay at the Christmas Garden, please be considerate: other visitors must not be disturbed or held up.
• The Christmas Garden team cannot provide organizationalsupport or help withthe design of the proposal.

Guests with disabilities
Yes. There are accessible toilets on the premises.
There are accessible paths for visitors with wheelchairs or strollers, but the natural conditions on site can still be challenging.
Visitors with a severely disabled pass (mark B) can bring an accompanying person to the Christmas Garden free of charge. However, children and adults with disabilities require a regular ticket. The accompanying person does not need their own ticket, but can enter with the person they are accompanying. Unfortunately, we cannot offer discounts for guests with disabilities without a mark B.
Adult visitors with disabilities require an adult ticket. Children with disabilities require a child ticket. Upon presentation of a severely disabled pass (mark B), one accompanying person will receive free admission to the Christmas Garden. The accompanying person does not require their own ticket. They can enter with the person they are accompanying. Unfortunately, we cannot offer discounts for guests with disabilities without a mark B.
Yes. Wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge at the island entrance and in the harbor. E-mobiles are not available during the winter season due to weather conditions.
